THE IIMM’S UNIFYING PROJECT ATTRACTS THE INTEREST OF THE UZBEKISTAN’S MINISTER OF CULTURE AND A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE UNITED NATIONS • TASHKENT, Uzbekistan
On 23 and 24 September 2023, Margaret DECHENAUX, director and founder of the International Institute of World Music, was invited for the second time to Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This high-level meeting was initiated by Dr Hyung Suk MOON, Honorary President of the Institute and consultant to UNESCO and the United Nations. On the unifying theme of culture as a vector for peace and social cohesion between peoples, Dr Hyung Suk MOON and the Director of the IIMM had a long discussion with Mr Ozodbek Ahmadovich NAZARBEKOV, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On July 4th, the IIMM and the City of Aubagne welcomed the new Honorary President of the Institute, Dr Hyung Suk MOON, UNESCO Consultant, Advisor to the UNESCO Division of Intangible Cultural Heritage, Secretary General of the International Committee of Folk Arts and Traditions at the United Nations Economic and Social Council for the Asia Region.
